Linda Hunter, American Quilter’s Society-certified quilt appraiser, is booking appointments for the Sackets Harbor Quilt Show, and will be at the show on Saturday and Sunday. Bring your quilt in for an assessment and appraisal, and to learn how to care for your family heirloom and understand its insurance value.
And, Linda will have a selection of quilts to exhibit from her personal collection, and will hold a Gallery Talk about the art of quilt appraisal, with a question and answer session on Saturday morning at 10:00 until 11:00.
Need some fabric to start your next quilting project?
TBQ members are sponsoring a “Fat Quarter Bonus” at the Sackets Harbor quilt show this fall. On Saturday morning at the show, the first 125 “Cabins + Cottages” Show attendees will receive a free fat fabric quarter (18″ x 21″) with their paid show admission passport, courtesy of the Town Barn Quilters. All it takes to start a quilt project is a little quarter of inspiration!
On Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. on October 12 our 2019 Feature Artist, Mary Knapp, will hold a Gallery Talk at Hay Memorial Library.
Mary’s newest quilt collection, “Patterns in the Wild” is an intriguing look at quilt art inspired by both the artwork of M.C. Escher and the natural world along Lake Ontario’s shoreline and the St. Lawrence River. Join us for Mary’s talk, meet the artist, discuss the vision, and view the show’s exhibit of “Patterns in the Wild” quilts from this series.
