“Sew Crazy” challenge quilts at the Sackets Harbor Quilt Show

Detail from a challenge panel

More than a dozen quilts from Glenfield, New York’s Sew Crazy Quilt Shop Challenge competition will be on view at the quilt show. The challenge fabric is a panel featuring a rustic cabin scene, with the colors and sights of autumn: fall leaves, quiet cabins, and blue skies. Come see these creative, one-of-a-kind quilt interpretations of the challenge, evocative of the Adirondacks, autumn, lakeside cottages, and the North Country.

2018 SHQS Feature Artist: Emelie Cuppernell

The Sackets Harbor Quilt Show welcomes North Country quilter Emelie Cuppernell as our 2018 Quilt Artist. Fifteen of Emelie’s quilts, both full size and miniature, will be exhibited in a retrospective look at her handiwork. Shown left is a detail from one of Emelie’s nature-inspired, dimensional quilts “Snowy Owl.” Emilie will give a talk on her art, the inspirations, and a long view of more than three decades of quilting and textile art.

Exhibit Venue: Sackets Harbor Visitor Center

Program Talk and Meet the Artist: Saturday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m.
